Over the past couple days, it's definitely felt like Kayla and I are a couple. I guess it just took a little warming up and getting used to for her, but every time I'm with her now, it feels like we're a couple. This being said, I think it's safe to say that I can throw any doubts right out the window, because I honestly have no reason to have any.

A little insight about the past week or so:

I invited Kayla to accompany me to a wedding in the family last weekend. Not only was this a chance to spend time with both her and the family, but it allowed her to meet the rest of the family, as well as the family to finally meet her. The night turned out great, but it was cut a little short, as I had to get her home with enough time for her to sleep before church the next morning. When I got her home, she told me that she really didn't want me to leave, and though I didn't have work the next day, she had church stuff to take care of, thus limiting the amount of time I could stay (it was midnight before I got her home).

The next time we were able to spend time with each other was just a couple days ago (Tuesday). We decided to watch a movie right here in Hartsville (instead of driving out to Florence) and grab a bite to eat after the movie was over. It was this day that I felt major changes in how she perceives our relationship - she was more affectionate (and willing to do so, for that matter), and further expressed her displeasure with me having to leave after the night was over (once more, I didn't have work the following morning, but I couldn't stay late because she had work). Since it has been several weeks since the last time I was able to stay over and spend an extended period of time with her, we agreed that Friday night would be our chance.

And on the note of Friday night, Kayla and I are meeting up with one of her friends and going bowling - this will be the first of her friends that I'm able to meet, and it should turn out to be a good time. The intent is to drive over to Kayla's and pick her up almost immediately after I get home from work, then set out for the hour-long drive to Florence and go bowling for a bit. After we have our fun, I'll drive Kayla back home and probably stay a little later, perhaps watch a movie or two. The only drawback is that I have work first thing Saturday morning (nothing is set in stone, but I'm almost 100% certain that I will), and though I'll be off from around 9 AM until 2:15 PM, I'm not going to get much sleep that night. I think I'm just going to spend the evening with Kayla, then by the time it's late (by our standards, 2-3 AM is late for me staying over), I'll just head back to my house, jump in the shower, get dressed for work, then head out. I can sleep after I get off in the morning, and if all else fails, I'll slam an energy drink before work in the morning to ensure that I'm awake.

Doing a little back-tracking, Kayla and I were able to spend a little time with each other today. She had little work to do this morning, so I had her call me when she got off and we agreed to meet up for lunch. We ate at Applebee's, and lunch turned out great. I wasn't completely thrilled with the service, but the quality of food more than made up for it - I've never had any complaints about the food at Applebee's; it's always been excellent, and today was no exception. After lunch, I still had an hour or so to kill before I had to get to work, so I agreed to accompany Kayla to Walmart so she could get a couple odds and ends (fortunately for me, Walmart was literally around the corner from where I'm currently working for this bus project, so it worked out in my favor). By the time she was done shopping and we made it out to her truck, I had a good 15 minutes before I needed to get around the corner to work, so we spent said 15 minutes talking at the truck. Similar to how we were talking when we went skating back in early December, she leaned against her seat and I was standing right next to her. Though this time was different - Kayla and I have been a couple for the past month and it didn't feel anywhere near as awkward as it did back in December. I wasted no time wrapping my arm around her shoulder, and she wasted no time wrapping her arm around my waist. We stayed this way the entire time we talked, and it was truly a pleasant experience. I don't remember the last time I've felt companionship like this from someone, and I'm certainly not complaining.

Because of the events that's taken place between us two over the past week, I think it's safe to say that she's truly interested in me, so I need to quit getting these weird delusions and realize that she's going to stay as long as I let her, exactly like I'll stay as long as she'll let me.

I think this is the longest update I've made in a while, and truthfully, it feels a little weird, since I'm so used to typing short updates as of recently. I'll eventually get back into the swing of things as far as normal length updates are concerned, and if things continue to progress well between Kayla and I, I'm more than certain that the long updates will continue.

For now though, it's coming close to bedtime. I'll send Kayla a couple texts for the time being, then TRY to call it an early night - I'm going to need all the sleep I can get tonight and when I get off tomorrow morning to make sure I've got enough energy to spend as much time with Kayla as possible, since I'm not too certain of when we'll be able to see each other again. I'm sure we'll figure something out, even though it'd be great to see her on a daily basis. For now though, I think we'll manage just fine.
